Dear Colleagues,

We are very happy to welcome you again in Athens for joining us in the 7th Official pre-ESH International Congress Satellite Symposium, entitled “Update on Difficult to Control Hypertension and Related Comorbidities”, on 11-12 September, 2020.

For the medical community taking care of hypertensive patients (Cardiologists, Internists, Nephrologists, General Practitioners) this Symposium aims to provide a forum of exchanging current knowledge and sharing clinical experience for the management of difficult to control hypertension.

The Symposium’s sessions including workshops, round tables, and lively discussions propose an updated scaffold for best therapeutic strategies in high-risk hypertensives. One of the main characteristics of this meeting is the short duration of presentations along with the assignment of one panelist per speaker making the meeting more interactive with the active participation of more than 120 leaders of ESH Excellence Centers, of more than 30 ESH Affiliated European Hypertension Societies and 9 chairpersons of ESH WGs.

This year there is a number of sessions under the general title “Connecting the Dots Between Lifestyle Modifications, Drug Therapy an Renal Denervation in the Management of Hypertension in 2020” where we will have the chance to discuss many aspects related to Renal Denervation in light of the anticipated presentation of important trial results at the upcoming scientific meetings. Last but not least, following the successful experience from last year, a special session dedicated to ESH Research Projects is included in the program with the expectation that this initiative will strengthen the relations between leaders of ESH Excellence Centres across Europe.

Participants after completion of the Symposium will be able to transform into clinical practice the medical knowledge shared in the meeting, leading to better hypertension care by offering the right therapy to the right patient at the right moment.

Participate, learn and share your experience in this 7th Official pre-ESH Congress Satellite Symposium.

Prof. Costas Tsioufis (Chairman of the Symposium. ESH President 2018-2019)

Prof. Roland E. Schmieder (Co-Chairman of the Symposium)
